أعلن السيد/ فهد مزيد الرجعان – مدير عام المؤسسة العامة للتأمينات الاجتماعية – عن بدء الخدمة الالكترونية على موقع المؤسسة الرسمي في شبكة الانترنت، التي تعتبر اضافة إلى الخدمة التأمينية المميزة التي تقدمها المؤسسة للجمهور منذ إنشائها.

وبين الرجعان/ أن الخدمة الالكترونية تتيح للمؤمن عليهم والمتقاعدين والمستحقين الاستفسار عن مدد الاشتراك وبيانات المرتب أو شريحة الاشتراك ومبلغ الاشتراك الشهري، وبيانات الحقوق التأمينية وسجلات الاستبدال والاستقطاع.

وأضاف الرجعان/ بأنه من خلال هذه الخدمة يمكن معرفة الاشتراكات المستحقة على المؤمن عليهم الخاضعين لأحكام الباب الخامس، وبيانات جهة الصرف والمبالغ الشهرية المحولة، وكذلك إمكانية حساب المعاش التقاعدي، وطلب شهادات لمن يهمه الأمر.

كما أوضح الرجعان/ بأن استخدام خدمة التأمينات الالكترونية يتم عن طريق إدخال الرقم السري الذي يتم الحصول عليه بعد الدخول للموقع الرسمي للمؤسسة www.pifss.gov.kw وتعبئة نموذج التسجيل الخاص بالخدمة.

وأكد الرجعان/ على أهمية المحافظة على الرقم السري لكل مستخدم لهذه الخدمة للمحافظة على سرية البيانات الشخصية بالإضافة إلى إمكانية استخدامه مستقبلاً في خدمة الاستفسار الهاتفي.

Knet Credit Card Processing

Haifa Al-Ali, Application Development Manager - Last year we undertook a lot of projects; a major step taken was a B24 system migration to the latest release 6.8. Regarding our ATMs, we increased the limit on our NCR ATMs to KD500; we also enabled EMV, as well as accepting AMEX cards on all our ATMs. In collaboration with the Operations & Services department, we did the Gaspar software installation for ATM journal capturing remotely, and the certification for the installation of cameras on all ATMs. All our ATMS are now IP.

With regard to EMV compliance, we assisted three banks on issuing EMV cards by
providing them with EMV ‘Early option’ facility to validate EMV data on their behalf.

We moved a number of banks to IP, rather than X.25. We are working towards changing all our links to be Triple DES encryption as per PCI requirements.

We connected to VISA and MasterCard for one bank, i.e. VISA and MasterCard have certain technical requirements and we took away the hassle of processing these transactions on behalf of the bank.

We started working on the Postilion project for Integrated POS and ATM driving. With regard to Payment Gateway, we began the process of upgrading the system which has been installed in the test environment for testing, and are aiming to move it to production by the first quarter of 2009; followed by credit card acquiring.

In addition, we also worked on the E-government project, on POS installation, and new reports; and we are testing new switches for inclusion into our network.

Good They are thinking to do credit card processing on the Payment Gateway And I have question they mentioned that they did credit card processing on behalf one of our local banks which bank is it ? I think it is aBK And it is good that they thinking to move to IP instead of X.25 .

WOL Security Key vs Yahoo! sign-in seal

My previous post about WOL Security Key I tried to use WOL Security Seal and I compare it to I found Yahoo! was better because I can upload my own image which I can express my self [link] opposite of WOL that I can choose only from their image which was very bad test come on guys you can do better than that!

but the idea behind this is for protecting users against phishing last year was very bad for all banks when users received emails from banks email address and they build same website interface and butting unnoticed url like for example instead of hotmail.com I can but h0tmail.com “0″ (zero) instead of “o” or dns attacks on PC’s so you will never find it unless you are expert with dns for example I can change “C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc” hosts file and redirect you to my own server so you will never know .

I heard they have been calling their customers who went to Dubai telling them they will cancel their cards against Fraud as well… Read this below. Regardless if story is true or not, this fraud’s been going on for sometime, and you should never trust any email asking to update bank details. Best way to be sure if you have to is, make sure the URL is the right one.

For example, NBK.com and not NBK-Kuwait.com or NBK-online.com.

Google Users Get Bogus Warning On Site Searches

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — Computer users doing Google searches during a nearly one-hour period Saturday were greeted with disturbing but erroneous messages that every site turned up in the results might be harmful.

The company blamed the mistake on human error and apologized for any inconvenience caused to users and site owners whose pages were incorrectly labeled.

The glitch occurred between 7:30 a.m. and 8:25 a.m., Google Inc. said in an explanation on its company blog. Anyone who did a Google search during that time likely saw the message “This site may harm your computer” accompanying every search result, the company said.

Google said it routinely flags any search results with that message if the site is known to install malicious software in the background or otherwise surreptitiously, a practice aimed at protecting its users. It gets its list of suspicious sites from StopBadware.org, a nonprofit project headed by legal scholars at Harvard and Oxford universities who research consumer complaints.

Saturday’s error happened when the latest update to the list was received from StopBadware but was checked in erroneously in such a way that the warning would apply to all URLs, the company said in a statement.

The glitch was caught by on-call staff and the file was quickly fixed, Google said. Since the updates are applied in a staggered and rolling fashion, the errors began appearing at 7:27 a.m. and disappeared no later than 8:25 a.m., with the duration for any particular user approximately 40 minutes, it said.

“We will carefully investigate this incident and put more robust file checks in to prevent it from happening again,” said Marissa Mayer, vice president of search products and user experience, in the statement.

Severed cable disrupts net access

Internet and phone communications between Europe, the Middle East, and Asia have been seriously disrupted after submarine cables were severed.

It is thought the FLAG FEA, SMW4, and SMW3 lines, near the Alexandria cable station in Egypt, have all been cut.

A fault was also reported on the GO submarine cable 130km off Sicily.

Experts warned that it may be days before the fault is fixed and said the knock on effect could have serious repercussions on regional economies.

Jonathan Wright – director of wholesale products at Interoute which manages part of the optical fibre network – told the BBC that the effects of the break would be felt for many days.

“This will grind economies to a halt for a short space of time,” he said “If you look at, say, local financial markets who trade with European and US markets, the speed at which they get live data will be compromised.”

“If you think how quickly trades can be placed, if they are suffering from bad latency times, then by the time a trade is placed, the market may well have moved on.”

The cause of the break is as yet unknown, although some seismic activity was reported near Malta shortly before the cut was detected.

In a statement released in relation to one of the breaks, France Telecom said: “The causes of the cut, which is located in the Mediterranean between Sicily and Tunisia, on sections linking Sicily to Egypt, remain unclear.”

The French firm said it was sending a ship out to fix the line between Italy and Egypt, although it could take until 31 December to fully repair the line.

The main damage is to the four submarine cables running across the Mediterranean and through the Suez Canal.

It is thought that 65% of traffic to India was down, while services to Singapore, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Taiwan and Pakistan have also been severely affected.

Earlier this year, the same line was damaged in the same area – off the Egyptian coast – although only two lines were snapped then.

“We’ve lost three out of four lines. If the fourth cable breaks, we’re looking at a total blackout in the Middle East,” said Mr Wright.

“These three circuits account for 90% of the traffic and we’re going to see more international phone calls dropping and a huge degradation in the quality of local internet,” he added.

“Normally you would expect to see one major break per cable per year. With four you should have an insurance policy. For this to happen twice in one year, on the same cable, is a serious cause for concern.”
